Beginnings...

... and so the College race begins...

Ever since I was a little girl, the goal of college has been set in my mind. Like a horse running through a field wanting to get somewhere, I grew up thinking of school as a race. Each passing grade was a mile accomplished. The end of the field being college. Now, as I am nearing the end of the "field", I realize that college is another race all on its own. It's like thinking that you see the end of the road, only to find out that what you saw was a top of a hill, and you are no where near the finish line...

With all of this to say, I wanted to start a blog to document the months and years ahead. From acceptances to college, to my first night in the dorm, to exams, I want to be able to have a place where I can read all of the things that happened, and what challenges I have faced. Not only that, I want to be able to get y'alls feedback on scenario's and circumstances that arise. Also, for family, because I know they will be wanting to know what I am doing every second of everyday ;).

So, I like to think of this new chapter in life as a race (obviously), and that this blog will allow me to interact with those on the sidelines that are cheering me on, wanting to see me fall, or wanting to just observe.

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart." (Hebrews 12:1-3)
